Social Networking vs Social Media

with Wedding Videographers

One of the most tedious jobs of ever wedding videographer is repurposing beautiful wedding highlight films. It's exhausting chopping up films, making them vertical and if you really want to go the extra mile - keeping up and editing to social media trends. All of this in the pursuit of follows, likes and comments. But there's a better way!

Think about all the time and effort you put into making said reels let's say they give you a few new followers. Now compare that to time and effort you put into talking with the wedding planner as you wait for the toasts to begin. Which is more likely to bring you more business?

I focus on content creation that nurture relationships with other vendors.

Creating Content with Vendors

A good practice for wedding videographers is to tag every vendor present in a wedding in the description of a post/reel on Instagram. Why not take it a step further? Tagging a vendor as a collaborator allows them to join in on the post and share with their followers. Take the relationship a step further and you could even shoot them a message telling them you tagged them and they're free to use the reel as they wish.

Before I edit one of these reels (and ideally before you film) we discuss which vendors you already work with and which ones you would like to. I'll investigate to see if they are active on the same platforms you are.

  • If they are I can match my edit to reflect both their brand and yours. I could even write a description for the post that sounds like both parties wrote it.

  • If they aren't active maybe they would like to be but just don't have anything to post which would make this plan ideal.
